We are proud to present the 12 selected projects from Greece under fuTOURiSME Open Call. Each project will receive €30,000 and expert support to implement solutions that drive sustainability, digitalisation, accessibility, and innovation in the tourism sector.

  • CRETA-FOOD, by Peskesi Farm & Restaurant in Heraklion

    The CRETA-FOOD project supports the Transition Pathway for Tourism by addressing green transformation, digitalization, and sustainability certification in the gastronomy sector. The project aims to implement circular economy practices, achieve GSTC-F&B certification, and integrate advanced digital tools to position Peskesi Farm & Restaurant as a model for sustainable dining in the Mediterranean. The project plans to adopt AI-based food waste management systems, integrate digital traceability for ingredient sourcing, launch a digital menu with CO₂ calculations, and achieve GSTC-F&B certification. Additionally, it will expand local farmer partnerships, conduct staff training and guest engagement programs, and showcase Peskesi's sustainability initiatives at global tourism fairs. Expected outcomes include improved operational efficiency, enhanced market competitiveness, reduced environmental impact, and strengthened brand positioning.

  • Holistic Innovation by Samos Bay Hotel

    The project aims to enhance Samos Bay Hotel's operations through advanced cybersecurity, data analytics, and sustainability practices, focusing on both digital transformation and eco-friendly initiatives. By integrating smart technologies like Cisco Firewall and Umbrella for cybersecurity, IoT, and data analytics, the hotel will improve guest experiences, operational efficiency, and decision-making. Sustainability initiatives include energy-efficient solutions, locally sourced eco-friendly breakfasts, and the use of renewable energy. The hotel will also focus on diversifying services to cater to a wide range of guests, including families and people with disabilities. Through personalized services and a strong focus on sustainability, the project aligns with the goals of digital transformation, sustainable tourism, and innovation, while improving guest satisfaction and environmental responsibility.

  • WAVES FOR ALL by Surf Club Keros

    The "Waves for All" project at Surf Club Keros aims to integrate accessibility, digital innovation, and sustainability into our operations, aligning with the Transition Pathway for Tourism. Key activities focus on transforming Surf Club Keros into a fully accessible resort, including camp improvements, the development of digital tools, and staff training to ensure high-quality service. The project’s expected outcomes include increased accessibility for diverse visitors, enhanced operational efficiency, and data-driven insights for continuous improvement. Staff training and awareness campaigns will help the team support green and digital transitions while promoting Surf Club Keros as a model for inclusive, sustainable tourism. This initiative positions Surf Club Keros as a pioneer in accessible adventure tourism, setting a replicable benchmark for the industry.

  • Hostlab e-bike adventure by Hostlab

    The Hostlab e-bike adventure project promotes sustainable tourism by providing high-quality electric bikes for guests and staff to explore Corfu's natural beauty while reducing their carbon footprint. Aligned with the fuTOURiSME open call, it focuses on green transition through e-bikes, contributing to cleaner tourism and Hostlab's sustainability goals. The project includes digital feedback systems, marketing campaigns, and performance monitoring tools to engage tourists and optimize services. Hostlab sets an example for small and medium-sized tourism enterprises by adopting green solutions and innovative services. Key activities involve market analysis, procurement of electric bikes, pilot testing, user feedback analysis, and promotional campaigns. Expected outcomes include a sustainable mobility service, enhanced guest experiences, increased engagement with Corfu’s natural beauty, reduced carbon footprint, and strengthened local collaborations.

  • GreenDinG Host by Volissos Holiday Homes The Green-DinG Host project at Volissos Holiday Homes aims to shift the hotel towards a more sustainable, eco-friendly model while integrating digital technologies to enhance guest experiences. The project focuses on reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions through innovative practices such as energy saver key cards, smart A/C systems, and electronic locks, contributing to climate neutrality goals. Additionally, the hotel will adopt advanced digital solutions like online check-ins and mobile keys to streamline operations and reduce paper waste. The project spans 12 months, with key activities including market research on eco-friendly tourism, installation of energy-efficient systems, staff training on sustainability and digital tools, and ongoing monitoring to assess performance and optimize efforts. This initiative will boost the hotel’s competitiveness, attract eco-conscious travelers, and inspire other SMEs in the tourism sector.

  • SUSTAINHUB 365 by Green Evolution The SUSTAINHUB 365 project aims to revolutionize sustainability management in tourism by developing a digital platform that supports hotels, travel agents, MICE organizers, attractions, and gastronomy businesses. Using IoT and AI, the platform allows tourism SMEs to track resource usage, optimize operations, and implement Net Zero strategies while achieving certifications like GSTC. The project focuses on green transition, digital transformation, and improving resilience and competitiveness for SMEs. It offers real-time resource tracking, ESG compliance, training workshops, and sustainability certification support. The expected outcomes include increased resource savings, reduced emissions, and enhanced market visibility for participating businesses, contributing to broader adoption of sustainable practices in the tourism industry.

  • ARcient Music Exhibition by LUTHIEROS Music Instruments and SEIKILO Museum The project aims to create an augmented reality (AR) exhibition showcasing SEIKILO Museum’s collection of ancient musical instruments. It will transform SEIKILO’s offerings into an accessible, sustainable tourism product. Key objectives include developing an interactive AR environment, creating the AR Pocket Exhibition App for users to explore content at their own pace, and optimizing visitor experiences through testing. The project aligns with sustainable mobility by reducing emissions from transporting artifacts, supports circular tourism by eliminating waste, and enhances cultural inclusivity by making the museum’s content accessible to remote communities. It also addresses challenges like high transport costs and artifact damage, while extending SEIKILO’s global reach. The AR exhibition introduces new revenue streams through AR cards and promotes sustainability by minimizing transportation-related carbon emissions.

  • CruisePilot: Eco-Digital Cruise Companion by Sail la Vie CruisePilot is a mobile app designed to improve communication and coordination during sailing trips. It provides real-time updates, route planning, team chat, and live leader tracking, ensuring smooth sailing experiences for skippers, brokers, and crew. The app also includes features like a digital logbook for documenting journeys and tools for reporting marine litter and wildlife sightings, promoting sustainability. It caters to all experience levels, fostering inclusivity, and is built to enhance operational efficiency while encouraging eco-friendly practices in nautical tourism. The app also partners with marine conservation organizations to integrate conservation tools.

  • D.I.V.E.: Digital Interactive Virtual Experiences by Skopelos Diving Center The D.I.V.E. project aims to promote diving tourism and highlight Underwater Cultural Heritage (UCH) sites in the Sporades by integrating AR/VR and AI technologies. The key dive site, the "Christoforos" shipwreck, will be showcased through a 3D model accessible via a mobile app (Android & iOS) and a website, offering an immersive virtual experience. The app, paired with an AR flyer, will provide users with information on local dive sites, cultural heritage, and natural beauty, with interactive features like AI-supported translations and storytelling. This innovative approach aims to attract both divers and non-divers, raise awareness of the region's cultural significance, and promote sustainable tourism, all while inspiring virtual explorers to visit the islands in person.

  • Workation in Chios island by CASTRUSSO CASTLE APARTMENTS This project aims to establish CASTRUSSO CASTLE APARTMENTS as a year-round hub for digital nomads and remote workers, aligning with the Transition Pathway for Tourism by promoting sustainability, digital transformation, and innovation. By creating a dedicated coworking and co-living space, enhancing its digital presence with a professional website and booking system, and implementing targeted marketing, the project seeks to attract remote professionals, reducing tourism seasonality and boosting the local economy. Additionally, research trips to leading digital nomad hubs will provide insights into best practices for fostering a vibrant community. The initiative focuses on equipping the space with modern amenities, developing an engaging online presence, and launching promotional activities to position Chios as a premier destination for remote work. Through this approach, the project will extend tourism beyond peak seasons, create new economic opportunities, and contribute to a sustainable, innovation-driven tourism model for the region.

  • MICE-VISION by AFEA Congress AE The MICE-VISION project aims to transform AFEA Congress AE’s event management by integrating sustainability and digital innovation. The project will align AFEA’s operations with GSTC-MICE standards, working towards certification as a sustainable Professional Congress Organizer (PCO). This includes preparing events for certification through audits and tailored action plans to reduce resource consumption and achieve measurable environmental benefits. Digital tools will be implemented to track energy, water, and waste usage, improving resource efficiency and supporting data-driven decisions. The project also includes workshops to train AFEA staff and partners on sustainable practices, engaging over 30 participants. Additionally, AFEA will showcase its sustainability efforts at a global tourism fair to increase visibility and build new partnerships. Overall, MICE-VISION will reduce environmental impacts, improve operational efficiency, and position AFEA as a leader in sustainable MICE operations, ensuring long-term growth in an eco-conscious market.

  • DUAL-GREEN by Aphrodite Hotel The DUAL-GREEN project by Aphrodite Hotel supports the Transition Pathway for Tourism by addressing green and digital transformation in hospitality and gastronomy. Its main goal is to achieve dual sustainability certifications—GSTC-Hotels and GSTC-F&B—while implementing smart resource management and a Net Zero strategy to reduce environmental impact and boost efficiency. Using IoT technology, the hotel will monitor and optimize energy, water, and waste usage. Staff training and guest engagement programs will promote sustainable practices, while participation in global tourism fairs will enhance visibility and partnerships. Key outcomes include successful certifications, a 30% increase in waste diversion, and improved brand positioning. By integrating technology, sustainability, and community engagement, DUAL-GREEN establishes Aphrodite Hotel as a model for responsible, future-ready tourism.
